Textiles (work in progress come back later)
With this project am bringing the beauty of nature indoors by incorporating infrared-designed prints and light sensitive paper imprints into my home decor. Inspired by the unseen spectrum of light captured in my work, I have chosen to use these vibrant and unique images from the Designing Nature series on fabric. Infrared photography has the remarkable ability to render intricate details and capture the unseen, transforming ordinary scenes into extraordinary works of art. Unlike imagined designs, these infrared prints are the closest representation of reality, revealing a hidden world that exists just beyond our normal perception. reality beyond our usual perception.
These designs will be used as tapestries, design for chairs and elements in the living and dining areas, infusing my living space with the rich, otherworldly colors of nature.
This project not only celebrates the hidden beauty of the natural world but also reimagines how art can be experienced in the home, blending art, design, and functionality, creating an intimate connection between the outdoor environment and the comfort of home. Additionally, it reimagines the traditional placement of art, allowing it to be experienced in new and unexpected ways.
Fabric, as a form of art, transcends its traditional role, offering a versatile medium that bridges craft and fine art, tradition and innovation. I’m excited to embrace this medium further, bringing together art and everyday living in new and meaningful ways.
